Sodium Shadowy Path Blocks

Sodium Shadowy Path Blocks

Reintroduces vanilla-like smooth lighting to non-full blocks (e.g. dirt paths and how they have dark shading when directly next to a full block) when using Sodium.

Update for MC 1.21.11 and Sodium 0.8.0

Changes:

  • Shadowyness slider is now disabled when "Only affect path blocks" and "Use vanilla lighting for path blocks" are enabled, as it has no effect with those two options enabled.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a crash (java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException) that could occur while using the "Use vanilla lighting for path blocks" option

The Sodium requirement has been removed.

This means that you can probably run it with a Sodium fork like Embeddium, and probably on Forge too, with Sinytra Connector. That being said, I make no compatibility guarantees. If something isn't working properly running SSPB with a Sodium fork, I probably won't fix it.

Mainly just some changes behind the scenes

Updated for Sodium 0.6.2

New:

  • Added Turkish (tr_tr) localization (by MissionWAR).

Now compatible with MC 1.21.2

New:

  • Added Brazilian Portuguese (pt_br) localization (by FITFC).

Bug Fixes:

  • 3D models for solid blocks no longer overly dark when rendering with indium

New:

  • Now works with Sodium 0.6.0-beta.1 (and incompatible with versions 0.5.x and below)
  • Indium and Fabric API are no longer required to toggle "Use vanilla lighting for path blocks"
  • Toggling "Use vanilla lighting for path blocks" no longer reloads assets (it toggles faster now!)
  • NeoForge version!

New:

  • "Shadowyness" slider now works on blocks with modded rendering (such as blocks with connected textures).
    • This only applies if "ambient-occlusion-mode" is set to "auto" or "enhanced" in ".minecraft/config/indium-renderer.properties", but "auto" is the default value, so if you didn't touch that file, you should be fine.
  • "Use vanilla lighting for path blocks" option can now be toggled when path blocks are using modded rendering.
  • Some optimizations (with help from rhysdh540)
  • Added Traditional Chinese (zh_tw) localization (by yichifauzi and notlin4).
  • Update Mod Menu entry.
  • Now explicitly incompatible with Sodium 0.6.0 versions.

New:

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed "Use vanilla lighting for path blocks" option not working in MC 1.21

Now supports MC 1.20.5

New:

  • Added ru_ru localization (by mpustovoi)
  • Updated some en_us settings tooltips
  • Made some tiny optimizations

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed "use vanilla lighting for path blocks" option not being vanilla accurate

New:

New:

  • When Indium and Fabric API are installed, you can now enable "vanilla lighting" for path blocks. This gives path blocks vanilla-accurate lighting, but disables the effect of the shadowyness slider on them.
  • This "vanilla lighting" is force-enabled when there is modded path block rendering (such as connected textures). This fixes path blocks not being shadowy when using this mod.
