Rays Farms

A Minecraft Fabric mod by ArSi.

Rays Farms is a small but clever companion mod that gives you a searchable, in-game library of farmable items — complete with direct links to tutorial videos. No more Alt-Tabbing into YouTube to remember how that one farm worked. Press a key, search, click, build.

All farms featured in this mod are designed by RaysWorks. This mod is an in-game index that surfaces his work — full credit for every farm goes to him.

The complete farm catalogue lives in this public Google Sheet: 👉 Rays Farms — Source Spreadsheet

Why Rays Farms?

Anyone who builds in Minecraft knows the drill: you need a specific resource, you think "there has to be a farm for this", and then you lose half an hour searching wikis and old videos. Rays Farms cleans that up.

  • All your farm ideas in one place — no scattered bookmarks.
  • Always up to date — the list lives in an online spreadsheet, not in the code. New entries appear instantly, no mod update required.
  • One click to the tutorial — every entry can carry a video link.
  • Stays out of your way — client-only, no server install, no game state changes.

Features

  • In-game menu with a hotkey (default: R).
  • Live search across name, item ID, category, and farming method.
  • Categories & farming methods displayed for every entry.
  • ▶ Video markers on entries that have a tutorial. Click to open the video in your browser.
  • Reload button to re-fetch the list without restarting Minecraft.
  • Dedicated keybind category Rays Farms (by ArSi) in Options → Controls → Key Binds — fully rebindable, never collides with vanilla bindings.
  • Client-only — works on any server, even vanilla ones.

How it works

On startup, the mod downloads this public Google Sheet as CSV and parses it into a searchable list. Each entry contains a display name, item ID, category, farming method, and (optionally) a tutorial URL. Everything happens on the client — no separate server runs, no save data is touched, no packets are sent to the server.

All farm designs come from RaysWorks. The video links inside the mod open his tutorials directly.

Requirements

Requirement Version
Minecraft 26.1.2
Fabric Loader 0.19.2 or newer
Fabric API matching your MC version
Java 25 or newer

Note: Without the Fabric API, the mod won't load. You can find it on Modrinth as well.

First steps in-game

  1. Load any world (singleplayer or a server — both work, the mod runs client-side).
  2. Press R.
  3. The Rays Farms menu opens.

The first time you open it, the mod automatically downloads the current list from the internet. If you're offline, the list will be empty — once you're back online, the Reload button has you covered.

The menu at a glance

Screenshot of the Mod

  • Search field: filters in real time across name, item ID, category, and farming method.
  • Reload: re-fetches the list — no game restart needed.
  • Status line: shows hit count, loading state, or an error.
  • ▶ Video: the entry has an attached tutorial. Clicking it opens the video in your default browser.
  • Close: closes the menu (ESC works too).

Customizing the keybind

The mod ships its own dedicated category in Minecraft's controls so it never collides with vanilla bindings.

  1. OptionsControlsKey Binds.
  2. Scroll down to the category Rays Farms (by ArSi).
  3. Click next to Open Rays Farms Menu and press your preferred key.
  4. Confirm — done.

Tip: If your chosen key is already bound, Minecraft highlights the conflict. Either rebind the other action first, or pick a free key.

Multiplayer & servers

Rays Farms is a client-only mod. You don't need to install it on the server — and you won't get kicked if the server doesn't have it. It doesn't change game state and doesn't send any packets.

Updates

Content (new items, new videos) is maintained through the online spreadsheet. You receive updates automatically via the Reload button or on the next start — without a mod update.

Code updates (new features, new MC version) are released here on Modrinth.

Common issues

"Mod won't load / game won't start"

  • Make sure your launcher is using Java 25+ (not the system-wide Java 8/17).
  • Verify that Fabric Loader 0.19.2+ and the Fabric API are installed.
  • Versions must match Minecraft 26.1.2.

"List is empty / shows Error"

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Click Reload.
  • If the status keeps showing "Error", restart Minecraft once — the source is a public online spreadsheet and can rarely be unreachable for a moment.

"The R key already does something else"

  • Either rebind the conflicting action, or bind Rays Farms to a free key (see Customizing the keybind).

"Clicking a video does nothing"

  • Minecraft opens links via your system's default browser. If you don't have a default browser set, configure it in your OS settings.

Who is it for?

  • Players who regularly build farms and want a quick reference.
  • Content creators and server admins who want to hand a curated list to their community.
  • Newcomers who want to dive into Minecraft farms without long research sessions.
