1.0.21

Additions

  • Brilliance for Living Armour can now be crafted as an Upgrade Tome in the Tabula Vitae from a diamond, a written book, a netherite ingot, and a shulker shell (needs a Master Blood Orb and 10,000 Essentia Vitae). Apply the tome to your armour to gain a level of Brilliance, up to four.

Changes

  • The Living Armour upgrade that used to show as "Forgotten" is now called "Brilliance" everywhere, matching the guide and wiki.
  • The Sigil of Bound Treasures can now bind to and remotely open modded containers, such as Sophisticated Storage and Iron Chests, not just vanilla ones.
  • The Ritual of Meteo is now nondestructive: the summoned meteor fills only open or replaceable space and leaves existing terrain and builds untouched, and its impact no longer blasts a crater.

Fixes

  • The Teleposer Focus is now transmuted from an Eye of Ender on a Tier 3 Ara Vitae. It previously used an Ender Pearl, which clashed with the Blood Pearl recipe (also an Ender Pearl), so the altar could not reliably produce either.
  • The meteor called down by the Ritual of Meteo now shows its proper texture instead of a missing-texture placeholder.
  • The Foreman's treasure now drops a usable Upgrade Tome (Curios Sockets, Elytra, or Gilded) instead of a blank one that granted nothing when applied.
  • Applying Blood Mending at the Hellfire Forge now requires a minimum of 400 Spiritus and consumes 200. The two values were swapped, so the forge asked for only 200 to start but tried to drain 400.

  • Reorganized the Rituals chapter: ritual stones, the diviner, and activation crystals now come first, and the rituals are grouped by the altar tier needed to reach them.
  • Reorganized the Spiritus chapter so the Vas Maleficum, which generates the aura, comes before the Crystallarium that depends on it.
  • The Ritual of Meteo is now nondestructive: the summoned meteor fills only open or replaceable space and leaves existing terrain and builds untouched, and its impact no longer blasts a crater.

Changes

  • An Orb of Vitae placed in an Ara Vitae now stops once it has emptied its stored Essentia Vitae into the altar, instead of immediately draining that Essentia Vitae back out into your Soul Network. Take the orb off and place it again when you want to charge your network from the altar.

Fixes

  • You can now harvest a Spiritus Crystal cluster by right-clicking it with an empty hand while carrying more than 512 Spiritus, as the guide describes. The empty-handed harvest never worked before; you had to be holding an item. Both work now.
  • The Well of Suffering now drains mobs all the way to death instead of leaving them stuck at 1 health. Previously the damaged mobs piled up just above death, so a nearby spawner would hit its mob cap and stop spawning, and the ritual appeared to stop working past a certain number of mobs.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen while holding or using a tool carrying a Silk Touch, Fortune, or Looting anointment. The anointment was leaving a broken enchantment entry on the item, which other enchantment mods would trip over and crash on.

1.0.20

Fixes

  • Fixed a crash when crafting in the Tabula Vitae. Lengthening or strengthening a flask that already held an effect, and certain other table crafts, could cause a crash. The table now completes these crafts safely.
  • The Sentient Extraction ritual no longer breaks Sentient Armour. It was also stripping the armour's internal experience-gaining cores, so afterwards the armour could no longer earn experience or reach the next level (it appeared stuck one point below every threshold) and it produced blank, unnamed tomes. Extraction now returns only your real upgrades, keeps the armour able to level, and frees its upgrade points correctly. Armour already stuck this way repairs itself the next time you equip it.

1.0.19

Additions

  • Earn a new advancement for imbuing a tool or piece of armor with Blood Mending at the Hellfire Forge.

Fixes

  • Spiritus souls dropped by the demonic mobs in the dungeon now carry their Spiritus value again. They were dropping completely empty, so there was nothing to absorb when you used one or fed it into a Spiritus gem.
  • Fixed a crash that struck when looking at an active Master Ritual Stone while carrying a Seer Sigil. The Sigil's ritual-area outline is now drawn correctly instead of bringing the game down.
  • Spiritus gems worn in a Curios slot now collect and spend Spiritus again. Only gems carried in your main inventory were being filled or drawn from; an equipped gem was ignored entirely.
  • An Ara Vitae now pulses a redstone signal when a transmutation finishes, so a redstone lamp or noteblock placed directly beneath the altar reacts as the guide describes.
  • A Blood Orb that already held EV no longer acts as an infinite source when placed in an Ara Vitae. It used to fill the altar and your network without ever being drained; its stored EV is now properly consumed as it transfers.
  • The Torment Nexus no longer drains your Soul Network uncontrollably. The EV cost to run it is now capped per operation, so even a sprawling spawner array can only ask so much of your network at once. Kills past that point still happen, still drop their loot, still grant experience, and still feed their EV into the altar.
  • Regeneration and Poison flask recipes now show their real base duration when previewed. The lengthening and potency recipes had been displaying a placeholder three-minute version that didn't match the flask you can actually brew.
  • Ritual previews in the guide book now rotate around the Master Ritual Stone at their center, instead of spinning off to one side.

Additions

  • Earn a new advancement for imbuing a tool or piece of armor with Blood Mending at the Hellfire Forge.

Fixes

  • The Ara Vitae once again pulses a redstone signal when a transmutation finishes, so a redstone lamp or noteblock placed directly beneath the altar reacts as the guide describes.
  • The Torment Nexus no longer drains your Soul Network uncontrollably. The EV cost to run it is now capped per operation and measured against your live balance, so even a sprawling spawner array can only ask so much of your network at once. Kills past that point still happen, still drop their loot, still grant experience, and still feed their sacrifice EV into the altar.

  • Spiritus gems worn in a Curios slot now collect and spend Spiritus again. Only gems carried in your main inventory were being filled or drawn from; an equipped gem was ignored entirely.

1.0.18

Additions

  • New advancement, Sentient Evolution, earned by activating the Ritual of Sentient Evolution. It branches from the existing Sentient Armor advancement.
  • The Seer's Sigil now reveals a ritual's working area. While you carry one, looking at an active Master Ritual Stone outlines each of the ritual's configured ranges in the world with a coloured box. The sigil only needs to be on you, it works from your inventory, from inside a Sigil of Holding, or worn in a Curios slot.

Changes

  • The Ritual Reader has been renamed to the Ritual Configurator (same item, same recipe, same function, new name). Its in-game name, guide book, and wiki entries are all updated to match.
  • The two Master Routing Node upgrades are now named Routing Stack Upgrade (was Master Routing Node Core) and Routing Speed Upgrade (was Speed Core), so their names match what they do. The guide book and wiki now spell out their limits and effects: up to 64 stack upgrades (each adds +16 items, +1,000 mB, and +10,000 FE per operation) and up to 19 speed upgrades (each shaves one tick off the 20-tick pulse, down to every tick).
  • The Ritual Configurator can now relocate a ritual's chest, tank, or input/output container instead of it always sitting directly above the Master Ritual Stone. In the Define Area mode, Sneak + Use in the air to cycle to the chest/tank zone, then mark two opposite corners to move it. This also fixes zone-cycling, which previously couldn't reach anything past a ritual's first zone. The Endless Quarry, Hymn of Siphoning, and the Torment Nexus now honour the relocated container too (they used to force it directly above the stone).

Fixes

  • Players other than the one who opened a Demon Realm dungeon are no longer teleported back out a few seconds after entering. Anyone is now kept inside as long as they are within the dungeon's bounds, instead of only the dungeon's creator being recognised.
  • Breaking a block that holds items no longer voids its contents. The Athanor, Ara Vitae, Hellfire Forge, Vas Maleficum, Tabula Vitae, Teleposer, Alchemy Array, routing nodes, and the Orb Filling and Vitae link blocks all drop their stored items again when mined or otherwise removed. Breaking an active Master Ritual Stone also properly stops its ritual again.
  • The Master Routing Node now accepts its upgrades again. The stack and speed upgrade slots were rejecting the Routing Stack Upgrade and Routing Speed Upgrade items; each slot now takes its matching upgrade.
  • An Ara Vitae no longer loses its tier when fluid (such as Essentia Vitae) sits in an optional pillar position beneath a capstone. Those positions already treated air as empty; fluid now counts as empty there too, so a pool of life essence around the altar will not break the structure.
  • Self-sacrifice now works on servers with PvP disabled. Wounding yourself to fill an altar or Blood Orb, and the Ritual of the Willing Sacrifice, were silently cancelled when PvP was off, because the damage was attributed to you as the attacker and the game makes players immune to player-dealt damage in that mode. Self-sacrifice damage is no longer treated as player-versus-player.

Self-sacrifice damage is no longer treated as player-versus-player.

1.0.17

Changes

  • The Output Routing Node is no longer crafted on its own. Craft an Input Routing Node, then flip it between Input and Output forms with a shapeless crafting recipe (put either one in a crafting grid to convert it to the other).
  • Refreshed the guide book and wiki coverage of the dungeon key system so it matches how the keys actually work: the Simple Dungeon Key opens ordinary sealed doors, the Mine Entrance Key opens the way to the Mines, and the Mine Dungeon Key (dropped by the Foreman) opens the deeper workings.

Fixes

  • The Ritual of Meteo and the other advanced rituals (Crafting, Condor, Armour Evolve, Upgrade Removal, Torment Nexus) no longer demand the Creative Activation Crystal. They now correctly require the Awakened Activation Crystal.
  • The Glaciaris ice demon now uses its corrected model instead of an outdated version with overlapping, z-fighting geometry.
  • The Divination and Seer Sigils now report the correct Ara Vitae tier. They were reading one tier too high (a Tier 4 altar showed as Tier 5), and now match the tier numbers used in the guide book.
  • Dungeon demon spiritus drops can no longer be multiplied into huge piles by loot-multiplying weapon affixes (such as Apotheosis's Loot Pinata). The demons still drop their themed spiritus on a player kill at the same chances; the drop simply no longer goes through the loot table those affixes amplify.
  • Demonite Ore can be mined inside dungeons again. It had become protected like the dungeon's structural blocks, so it couldn't be broken in dungeon rooms; mining it now drops Raw Demonite as intended.
  • Master Ritual Stones respond to redstone again. A redstone signal now pauses a normal Master Ritual Stone (the ritual resumes when the signal is removed), while an Inverted Master Ritual Stone runs only while powered. Neither was reacting to redstone at all.
  • Sentient pickaxes, axes, shovels, and the Lex Vitae now apply their spiritus mining-speed bonus while you simply hold them, keeping it current as your spiritus rises and falls. The Lex Vitae was gaining no mining-speed bonus at all, and the others only refreshed theirs after a right-click or attack. The bonus is now also listed on each tool's tooltip (hold Shift).

1.0.14

Additions

  • Ritual stones can now be found in the JEI search by typing "rune" (or "ritual rune", or their element name like "air rune"), alongside the altar runes.

Changes

  • The Output Routing Node is no longer crafted on its own. Craft an Input Routing Node, then flip it between Input and Output forms with a shapeless crafting recipe (put either one in a crafting grid to convert it to the other).

Fixes

  • Demonite Ore can be mined inside dungeons again. It had become protected like the dungeon's structural blocks, so it couldn't be broken in dungeon rooms; mining it now drops Raw Demonite as intended.

1.0.16

Additions

  • Item routing node filters can now match by data components. Shift-right-click an item in a filter slot to open a picker and choose which of its components must match, letting you filter a single multi-variant item (such as a mod's conduit that stores its type in a component) down to just one variant.

Changes

  • The Cry of the Forsaken Soul ritual is now called The Ritual of Lost Souls, matching the name used in the guide book and wiki.
  • Runes, Bloodstones, and the capstone blocks used to build higher-tier altars can now be referenced as a group by recipes, automation, and other mods, the same way their placed forms already could.
  • Dungeon Ore has been renamed to Demonite Ore.

Fixes

  • The Hellforged Trim Ingot can be applied at a smithing table again. The smithing table was rejecting it as a valid trim material ("this item can't be upgraded that way").
  • Several advancement names and descriptions (the Tabula slate tier advancements) were showing their raw translation keys instead of readable text.
  • The Neo Vitae advancements tab now shows its background again instead of a broken texture.
  • The light-blue connection beams between routing nodes and their master routing node now render again. The brief link animation played when connecting, but the persistent beams were not showing.
  • The altar preview in the guide book now lines up with the block you anchor it to, instead of appearing one block too high, and no longer shows required bedrock blocks beneath the corner caps; the pillar bodies (any solid block) are left out of the preview, as the entry text already explains.
  • The Weak Activation Crystal can no longer activate advanced rituals. It was able to start every ritual, including ones meant to require the Awakened Activation Crystal (such as the Torment Nexus); those now correctly require the Awakened crystal.
  • The Hellforged armor trim now renders correctly when applied to armor, in the cool blue of the Hellforged Ingot, and is crafted from a Hellforged Ingot to match its name.
  • The guide now says to lay deepslate (not smooth stone) on the altar to make a Tabula Rasa, matching the actual recipe.
  • Demonite Ore now drops Raw Demonite when mined, or the ore block itself with Silk Touch. It was dropping both the ore block and Raw Demonite at once, ignoring Silk Touch.
  • The Tabula Vitae now consumes its ingredients when crafting. Recipes were finishing and producing their output without using up the materials placed in the table.
  • Breaking a Tabula Vitae no longer voids its contents. Items left inside are now dropped no matter which part of the table you break.
  • The Tabula Vitae recipe pages in JEI now show the correct Blood Orb. Recipes that need an Apprentice Orb were showing the lower Weak Orb, which the table would not accept.
  • Curios slots now accept their items again. The Sentient Training Bracelet, Tome of Peritia, sigils, Spiritus Gems, and the Spiritus Aura Gauge could not be placed into their charm, bracelet, or necklace slots; they can now all be equipped.
  • Upgrade Tomes found in mine chests now carry their intended Living Armor upgrade and experience. They were dropping blank, with no upgrade attached and nothing to apply when used.

1.0.13

Additions

  • Item routing node filters can now match by data components. Shift-right-click an item in a filter slot to open a picker and choose which of its components must match, letting you filter a single multi-variant item (such as a mod's conduit that stores its type in a component) down to just one variant.

  • The guide now says to lay deepslate (not smooth stone) on the altar to make a Tabula Rasa, matching the actual recipe.
  • Demonite Ore now drops the ore block itself with Silk Touch, or Raw Demonite when mined normally. Silk Touch was being ignored.

  • Upgrade Tomes found in mine chests now carry their intended Living Armor upgrade and experience. They were dropping blank, with no upgrade attached and nothing to apply when used.

1.0.15

Additions

  • The Athanor can now disenchant items. With a Sanguine Reverter in the tool slot, load books and an enchanted item (or an enchanted book); each enchantment is peeled off onto a book, and the cleaned item drops to the output once it is bare. Costs 5 raw spiritus and 100 mB of Essentia Vitae per enchantment moved.
  • The Seer's and Divination Sigils now show a live HUD overlay: aim at an Ara Vitae while holding the sigil to read its tier and EV (the Seer also shows crafting progress, consumption per tick, and Charging Rune reserve). The Incense Altar, Sigil of Holding, and Spiritus Aura Gauge are HUD displays too, and every display can be repositioned with the new Edit HUD Layout keybind (default H, rebindable under Controls).

Changes

  • JEI now shows the Blood Tank's upgrade recipe for each tier instead of a text info page, so you can see exactly which tanks and materials make the next tier.
  • Tidied the Orb of Vitae pages in the guide book; the redundant crafting-cost pages were removed, since the Orb Tiers page already lists every orb and its Anima capacity.

Fixes

  • Demonite Gravel can now be processed into Hellforged Dust in the Athanor; the gravel-to-dust step was missing while every other gravel worked.
  • The Athanor no longer eats one of every item sitting in its input slots after each craft; it now consumes only the items the recipe actually uses.
  • Sentient axes, pickaxes, shovels, and scythes now craft in the Hellfire Forge with an empty Spiritus Gem, just like the sword. The Spiritus Infusion recipe was claiming iron tools and producing a broken half-infused item; it now applies only to armor and shields, leaving tools to their proper sentient transform.
  • Coal Dust can now be crafted from a Coal and a Plant Oil. This breaks the deadlock where Basic Cutting Fluid needed Coal Dust, but Coal Dust could previously only be made with Cutting Fluid in the Athanor.
  • Dungeon rituals now check for clear space before activating. If the structure would carve into your build, the ritual refuses to activate, spends no Essentia Vitae, and tells you the size of the area to clear around the Master Ritual Stone, instead of destroying nearby blocks without warning.
  • Lowered the trial spawners in many dungeon rooms from the ceiling to the floor, fixing mobs that failed to spawn and loot that ejected above the roof.
  • Simple Dungeon Keys no longer drop in the Standard Dungeon; its chests now drop Standard Dungeon Keys (and Mine Entrance Keys where appropriate). Simple Keys remain exclusive to the Simple Dungeon.
  • Toggleable sigils now apply their effect while worn in a Curios slot, not only when held; the Magnet Sigil (and other charm-slot sigils) work when equipped.
  • Undead raised by the Necromancy Sigil no longer attack their summoner; the skeletons and strays were inheriting vanilla hostile targeting. They now defend you, going after whatever attacks you or whatever you strike.
  • The flying vex-like dungeon demon (Animaris) now stays anchored to where it spawned instead of drifting out of the dungeon and littering the surrounding area with unreachable mobs.

1.0.14

Additions

  • The Orb Vitae Link can now be switched off with a redstone signal, letting you gate it off your altar's comparator so it only charges while the altar is full.

Fixes

  • Fixed a crash that could happen when entering a world while wearing Sentient Armor with a movement or eating training upgrade.
  • Activated sigils now apply their effects again, instead of doing nothing while toggled on.
  • The Ritual Diviner's automatic rune placement works again when activated.
  • Sentient Armor now shows its proper texture when worn, instead of a missing/broken texture.
  • The Blood Shield (raised by activating an orb in your offhand) now renders correctly and stays directly in front of your view, instead of showing a broken texture and rotating as you turn.
  • The Blessed Sacrifice effect now has its status icon, instead of showing a missing texture.
