Electrostatics is a small mod allowing you to use static electricity to generate early game FE. How powerful this FE generation is is completely configurable. Electrostatics currently adds the following blocks/items.

  • Treetap - used to obtain resin from logs
  • Resin - can be smelted to make rubber
  • Rubber - used in crafting recipes
  • Rubber Boots - used with a carpet to produce static electricity
  • Electrostatic Generator - converts static electricity to FE

To get started with Electrostatics, you need rubber. Any rubber in the ore dictionary will do, but Electrostatics also adds it's own rubber and a way of getting it (this feature can be disabled in the config). Here are the steps for obtaining rubber and using it:

  1. Craft a treetap with 5 iron, this recipe shape is the same as the IC2 treetap, 3 iron along the center, one in the top center and one in the bottom left hand corner.
  2. You can then right click with the treetap on any log to obtain some resin.
  3. Smelt this resin to make 7 rubber.
  4. Use 4 of the rubber to make rubber boots, the recipe shape is the same as vanilla boots.
  5. Use the 3 remaining rubber to make an electrostatic generator. The recipe is copper in the top left and right corner, a redstone block in the top center, a furnace in the middle, rubber in the left and right center and the bottom center and finally stone in the left and right bottom.
  6. Place down the electrostatic generator and have it either directly adjacent to a machine or connected to some form of conduit.
  7. Then place down carpet around the electrostatic generator.
  8. Wear your rubber boots and walk around on the carpet.
  9. You are now producing FE!
