Auroral 1.1.1

A compatibility and polish update. The aurora now renders correctly under Iris and Sodium with shader packs, and the start sound is quieter and no longer repeats during the same night.

Fixed

 • Aurora rendering with shader packs. With Iris, Sodium, and a shader pack such as Complementary installed, the aurora was breaking into visible triangle facets across the sky instead of glowing smoothly. The ribbon now blends correctly through any shader pack's atmospheric pipeline.
 • Aurora start sound. Now plays on the weather sound channel at 30% volume and only once per night. Previously the sound was at full volume on the ambient channel and could replay if a Hearthwood Log and Aurora Shard forced a second aurora during the same night.

Changed

 • Minimum NeoForge version. Auroral now requires NeoForge 21.1.215 or newer.

Auroral 1.1.0

A content-and-fixes update bringing new flora, food items, behavior, and a much-improved in-game guide. Backported from the 26.1 development branch.

Added

 • Ender Bloom — a dark variant of the Aurora Bloom. Right-click an Aurora Bloom with an Ender Pearl to convert it at the same growth stage. Mature Ender Blooms drop Aurora Ender Shards and persist forever (no daytime decay).
 • Aurora Ender Shard — dropped by mature Ender Blooms. Four shards craft back into an Ender Pearl, making a mature Ender Bloom farm a renewable Ender Pearl source.
 • Aurora Bloom Decorative — a non-crop visual variant of the Aurora Bloom for decorative builds. Crafted from a Frozen Petal and an Aurora Shard.
 • Roasted Snowball — toast a snowball over a campfire or in a furnace. Eating one offends the Auroral Nautili and suppresses wild Nautilus spawns near you.
 • Sugared Roasted Snowball — a Roasted Snowball coated in sugar. Eating one apologizes to the Nautili and clears the offended state.
 • S'nore — two cookies and a Sugared Roasted Snowball. Grants Conduit Power and resets your insomnia timer.
 • Equipment and block tooltips — Shimmersteel tools, Shimmerweave armor, and Auroral functional blocks now show in-game ability and info lines so you can read what each piece does without opening the guide.
 • In-game guidebook — a proper Auroral item registered in the mod, craftable from a Book and a Snowball. Right-click to open the guide. Replaces the previous generic GuideME book that did not appear in JEI, search, or /give.
 • Restored guide content — pages for Ender Blooms, Roasted Snowball, Sugared Roasted Snowball, S'nore, plus the Nautilus offending mechanic and Ender transformation sections.

Fixed

 • Mature Aurora Blooms now drop themselves so they can be replanted, alongside their Frozen Petal drop. Includes a 15% chance for a bonus bloom, matching the dev branch behavior.
 • Recipes now show in the in-game guide. The recipe files in src/generated were using a shorthand ingredient format that NeoForge 21.1.77 does not load, so the recipe manager indexed nothing for most blocks and <RecipeFor> lookups silently failed. Regenerated with the explicit ingredient format.
 • Guide page resolution — the in-game guide failed to open with "page auroral:index could not be found" because the start page id did not include the .md extension that GuideME stores keys under. Removed the explicit start-page override so the default resolves correctly.
 • Spawn egg icons in the guide — added missing item models for Auroral Nautilus and Snowlette spawn eggs so their textures render in <ItemImage> tags throughout the guide.
 • Ender Pearl from Shards, Roasted Snowball, and Shimmersteel Bow recipe entries in the guide — these used <RecipeFor> (item-id lookup) with recipe-id values, so they never resolved. Switched to <Recipe> (recipe-id lookup).
 • Ender Bloom can now be bonemealed on any substrate it can survive on, not just Shimmer Soil and End Stone. Matches Aurora Bloom behavior.
 • Smithing template now includes a hoe icon in its base-slot rotation so all valid upgrade bases are represented.
 • src/generated is no longer gitignored so generated assets ship with the source tree, preventing recurrence of the recipe-loading issue on fresh clones and CI builds.

Internal

 • New VERY_NAUGHTY data attachment tracks the Aurora-offended state on the player; it persists through death.
 • New TooltipEventHandler builds the tooltip map lazily on first use to avoid resolving DeferredHolders during static init.
 • Cleaned up several stale generated files that referenced items not present in this branch.

Auroral 1.5.4

Added

 • The Auroral Guidebook is now its own Auroral item with a proper recipe and a real icon. Crafting a book with a snowball still produces the guidebook, and right-clicking it opens the Auroral guide.

Changed

 • The in-game guide has been completely restyled. Every page now opens with a large item picture and a one line summary, sections are separated by clear dividers, and headings are colored. Important sub-topics show a small inline item picture next to a colored sub-heading. Recipes appear inline beneath the relevant block, and cross-references between pages are clickable item links.

Fixed

 • The guidebook now registers as a proper Auroral item. Previously the recipe produced a generic GuideME book that carried the Auroral guide reference internally, which meant it never appeared as an Auroral item to JEI lookups, search, KubeJS scripts, or /give commands. The new guidebook is a real Auroral item that behaves the same as any other.
 • The guide table of contents now lists every page under the Auroral heading, each with the correct icon next to its entry. Before this fix, only the home page and a couple of others were attached to the main heading. The rest of the pages floated around the table of contents without parents or icons.
 • Guide page files have been relocated to the folder GuideME expects, which prevents the guide from failing to load when other mods that use GuideME are installed alongside Auroral.
 • The Food and Drinks heading in the guide no longer shows the literal text & instead of an ampersand.

Docs

 • Every guide page now has a hero picture at the top, gold colored section headings, and inline cross-links and recipes where relevant. This covers the Introduction, First Steps, Aurora Events, Aurora Creatures, all Flora pages, every Shimmersteel and Shimmerweave gear page, Decorations, and Food and Drinks.
 • Page ordering in the table of contents now follows category ranges, so the list reads top to bottom in the same order as the home page: Getting Started, the Aurora, Flora, Shimmersteel, Shimmerweave, Decorations, then Food and Drinks.

Auroral 1.0.7

Backports of fixes from the 26.1 / 1.5.2 branch that also affect 1.21.1.

Fixed

 • Aurora Lanterns now drop themselves when broken instead of disappearing.
 • Glow Leeks now drop a leek plus bonus seeds when harvested at full maturity, like wheat. Reap mod's right-click harvest works correctly too.
 • Hearthwood Logs can be relit with flint and steel after they burn out, matching the guide.
 • Shimmering Ice now hydrates vanilla farmland within 4 blocks, not just Shimmer Soil, matching the guide. Works for Shimmering Ice placed before this update too.
 • The show_aurora_particles and play_aurora_ambient_sound client config toggles now actually do something. Previously both were defined but never read, so toggling them had no effect. (fixes issue #1)

Auroral 1.5.2

Added

 • Tooltips on every Auroral weapon, armor piece, and functional block explaining what they do. Shimmersteel tools, Shimmerweave armor, the Shimmer Spear, Hearthwood Log, Glacial Basin, Cold Brewing Stand, Shimmering Ice, Shimmer Soil, Snow Angels, Aurora Blooms, Ender Blooms, Glow-Leeks, Aurora Lanterns, Frozen Petals, and Aurora Ender Shards all call out their abilities so you don't have to check the guide mid-fight.

Changed

 • Shimmer Spear is now a proper stabbing spear instead of a throwable trident. It uses the 26.1 spear combat style: long reach, piercing stab, hold right-click to charge and release for a committed strike. Every hit still applies Frostbite, and during an aurora it deals bonus damage and inflicts a longer, stronger Frostbite.

Fixed

 • Aurora Lanterns now drop themselves when broken instead of disappearing.
 • Glow Leeks now drop a leek plus bonus seeds when harvested at full maturity, like wheat. Reap mod's right-click harvest works correctly too.
 • Aurora Blooms growing on snow now drop Frozen Petals and the decorative variant when broken. The snow restore was happening before the drops rolled and was eating them.
 • Young Aurora Blooms (stages 0-2) are no longer hidden inside a single snow layer when planted on snow.
 • The Aurora Bloom item tooltip no longer shows the raw translation key and now says "Aurora Bloom" like it should.
 • Hearthwood Logs can be relit with flint and steel after they burn out, matching the guide.
 • Shimmersteel Axes strip logs, scrape copper, and remove wax again — not only force-oxidize copper.
 • Shimmersteel Shovels can create dirt paths and douse campfires again.
 • The Shimmersteel Upgrade Smithing Template no longer shows the magenta-and-black "missing texture" checkerboard in empty slots; the ice-themed icons for all equipment types display correctly. Hoe and Spear slot icons are now included in the rotation since both are upgrade targets. (fixes issue #6)
 • Broken guide links on the Shimmer Spear page no longer throw "Page does not exist" errors. (fixes issue #5)
 • Shimmering Ice now hydrates vanilla farmland within 4 blocks, not just Shimmer Soil, matching the guide. Works for Shimmering Ice placed before this update too. (fixes issue #4)
 • The show_aurora_particles and play_aurora_ambient_sound client config toggles now actually do something. Previously both were defined but never read, so toggling them had no effect. (fixes issue #1)

Docs

 • Guide index pages now show a small item icon next to each entry so the table of contents is easier to scan.
 • Hearthwood Log guide now accurately describes the Aurora Catalyst boost: +15% aurora chance per lit log nearby, stacking up to three logs for +45%. The two guide pages previously contradicted each other (one said "guaranteed", the other said "slight").
 • Hearthwood Log burn time corrected from "7 real-world days" to "7 in-game days of play time" (roughly two and a half hours while the area is loaded). The timer only counts down while the chunk is active.

Auroral 1.5.1

Fixed

 • Cold Brewing Stand screen no longer hides the player inventory and brewing slots behind the background texture (1.5.0 regression from the 26.1 GUI API migration)

Added

 • Brazilian Portuguese (pt_br) translation, contributed by the community

Auroral 1.5.0

Changed

 • Updated to NeoForge 26.1.2.22-beta. Requires a matching loader version
 • Internal cleanup to match current Minecraft and NeoForge APIs. No gameplay changes

Auroral 1.4.0

Added

 • Roasted Snowball - A new edible item smelted from a snowball (furnace or campfire). Provides minor nutrition. Eating one offends the Auroral Nautili, and wild nautili will no longer spawn near you during aurora events until you atone
 • Sugared Roasted Snowball - Crafted from a Roasted Snowball and sugar. Carries a visible enchantment glint. Eating one makes peace with the Nautili so they return to your skies
 • S'nore - A shapeless craft of 2 Cookies and a Sugared Roasted Snowball. Restores as much hunger and saturation as Cooked Beef, grants Conduit Power for 30 seconds, and resets the phantom insomnia timer as if you'd slept. Stacks to 16. Currently uses the vanilla cookie texture as a placeholder
 • Hover tooltips on Roasted Snowball and Sugared Roasted Snowball explaining their effect on the Auroral Nautili
 • GuideMe entries for all three new foods, plus a note on the Auroral Nautilus page about how offending the Nautili affects wild spawns
 • Shimmersteel Sword execute now plays distinctive feedback when it triggers: an enchant, crit, and end-rod particle burst at the target, with a deep crit hit sound layered with a high amethyst chime
 • Shimmerweave Goggles now have a translucent tinted visor over the eye area. The opaque side bars and rim stay, but you can see the wearer's face and eyes through the goggles
 • Auroral Nautili now support vanilla Nautilus Armor (Copper, Iron, Golden, Diamond, Netherite). Right-click a tamed nautilus with a piece of nautilus armor to equip it, and shear the nautilus with shears to remove the armor. Armor now renders correctly on the entity via a custom shell overlay

Changed

 • Tamed Auroral Nautili now orbit closer (radius 3.0/height 2.0 to 2.0/1.0) so they stay within survival interact reach. You can now actually right-click to sit, mount, or equip them without waiting for a lucky pass
 • Wild Auroral Nautili now orbit a player holding an Aurora Shard instead of hovering directly overhead, keeping themselves in reach for taming clicks

Fixed

 • Shimmersteel Bow damage now scales correctly with the Power enchantment. The Star-Shot projectile was missing from the #minecraft:arrows entity tag, which is required for the vanilla Power enchantment to apply. A fully-drawn Power V Shimmersteel Bow now lands about 8.5 hearts on an unarmored target instead of the previous 3.5
 • Shimmersteel Sword execute now also honors the weapon item carried by the damage source (not just the attacker's main hand) and treats targets exactly at the execute threshold as eligible
 • Shimmersteel Ingot can now actually be used as an armor trim material. Smithing tables accept it as the addition slot for armor trim recipes, and it maps to the auroral:shimmersteel trim material

Auroral 1.3.3

Changed

 • Shimmersteel Bow now hits ~20% harder than a vanilla bow at equal charge, and properly respects the Power enchantment (and other weapon-damage enchantments). Damage now scales with draw strength instead of being a flat value
 • Shimmersteel Bow now respects the Infinity enchantment — an Infinity bow no longer consumes snowballs and can be drawn with an empty inventory
 • Shimmerweave Skates Frost Walker effect now triggers while standing still on an edge over water, not only while moving (still requires being on the ground, so swimming will not freeze water around you)
 • Shimmerweave Skates no longer take durability damage when converting lava to obsidian
 • Auroral Nautilus spawns are now capped per local area instead of only per player. With multiple players in the same region, nautilus density no longer multiplies — at most 2 nautili can exist within ~64 blocks of any player before spawning pauses for that player

Auroral 1.3.2

Fixed

 • Fixed a crash on startup when using Auroral with the latest version of Jade (26.0.9 and newer). Auroral and Jade will now play nicely together again

Auroral 1.3.1

Added

 • Tamed Auroral Nautili within 32 blocks of you when you change dimensions (nether portal, end portal, /tp, etc.) now follow you to the destination
 • Aurora Blooms placed on a snow layer now visually keep a snow base around them (rendered via a multipart blockstate), so snow-logged blooms read as snow-logged at a glance

Fixed

 • Aurora Blooms placed on a snow layer now replace the layer at the same Y level and remember the snow context (snow-logged), instead of being placed floating above the layer (1.3.0 regression)
 • Aurora Blooms can now be planted on snow layers with 2+ layers — vanilla only marks 1-layer snow as replaceable, so multi-layer snow used to push the bloom into the block above. The bloom item now overrides this so it always replaces at the same level

Auroral 1.3.0

Added

 • Aurora Blooms can now grow on Ice, Packed Ice, and Blue Ice in addition to snow and Shimmering Ice (so frozen ocean surfaces are now valid spawn ground)
 • Aurora Blooms placed on a snow layer (manually or by the mod) now sit above the snow layer instead of replacing it, so the snow is preserved as-is
 • Aurora Blooms placed in powder snow are now snow-logged: the bloom grows inside the powder snow rather than displacing it, and powder snow is restored when the bloom is broken or wilts
 • Glacial Basin output slot can now be emptied by sneak + right-clicking the basin with an empty hand
 • Glacial Basin extraction via automation is restricted to the output slot — pipes can no longer pull queued items out of the input slot
 • Snow-logged blooms emit faint snowflake particles above themselves so they can still be located when buried under additional snow
 • Snow Angels are now tagged as replaceable, so blocks can be placed directly into a snow angel's space without breaking it first

Fixed

 • Aurora Blooms can no longer be spawned on a snow layer whose underlying block isn't a valid bloom surface, preventing blooms from being left sitting on stone or dirt after the snow melts
 • Aurora Bloom natural spawning now fires a block-place event, so claim-protection mods like FTB Chunks can prevent blooms from appearing inside other players' claimed chunks
 • Aurora Bloom surface scanning now picks the topmost snow/ice in a column, so snow layers sitting on top of snow blocks are recognized as the spawn target rather than blocking the place-above branch
 • Snow Angels now require both hands to be empty to be created, rather than only the main hand

Tweaks

 • When a snow-logged Aurora Bloom dies (daytime wilt or surface lost), it now decays back into powder snow instead of vanishing

Auroral 1.2.5

Fixed

 • Fixed Shimmer Soil rejecting vanilla crop seeds
 • Added the proper vanilla tool tags to weapons and tools

Tweaks

 • A fully grown Aurora Bloom now also drops the living bloom itself in addition to Frozen Petals, with a 15% chance for one bonus bloom. broken blooms can be replanted and slowly propagated
 • A fully grown Ender Bloom has a 5% chance to drop a bonus Ender Bloom in addition to its Aurora Ender Shard
 • Lit Hearthwood Logs now ignite any Phantom that enters their 16-block area of effect, and Phantoms refuse to target players who are in the protective area

Auroral 1.2.3

Hotfix

 • Fixed auroral_guide and glowstone_dust_from_glow_leeks recipes failing to load on 26.1 — ingredients were still using the pre-1.21.2 {"item": "..."} object format, which silently drops all entries and leaves an empty ingredient list

Auroral 1.2.2

Hotfix

 • Aurora music now plays once per aurora event instead of looping
 • Aurora music max volume reduced to 50% (was full volume)
 • Slowed the Ender Bloom (stage 3) texture animation by 5x

Auroral 1.2.1

Ported to Minecraft 26.1.2

 • Updated to Minecraft 26.1.2 on NeoForge 26.1.2.7-beta
 • Updated JEI to 29.5.0.26 for 26.1.2

New Content

Decorative Aurora Bloom

 • Silk-touching a fully grown Aurora Bloom now yields a decorative variant instead of Frozen Petals
 • The decorative bloom never decays at sunrise, always displays as fully grown, and can be placed inside flower pots
 • Breaking the decorative variant simply drops itself, allowing it to be relocated freely

Ender Bloom

 • Right-click an Aurora Bloom with an Ender Pearl to transform it into an Ender Bloom at the same growth stage (pearl is consumed)
 • Ender Blooms persist forever — they do not wilt at sunrise like Aurora Blooms
 • Ender Blooms only progress through growth stages when planted on Shimmer Soil or End Stone (bonemeal follows the same rule)
 • Breaking an Ender Bloom at any stage drops an Ender Bloom item; at stage 3 it additionally drops an Aurora Ender Shard
 • 2 Aurora Ender Shards can be shapeless-crafted back into an Ender Pearl
