Here's an update fixing bugs of the last beta version and preparing the grounds for 1.21.1 support:
- Bug fixes:
- Fixed tridents being upside-down when untrimmed
- Fixed the texture of spears trimmed with Charge in the inventory
- There is no longer a recipe toast every time you trim a tool
- Added compability for 1.21.9-1.21.10:
- Support for 1.21.5-1.21.8 might no longer be added but support for 1.21.1 is now planned
- Now you can dismiss the missing assets warning if it is not relevant, e.g. for servers.
Also, it wasn't mentioned in the last changelog but Tool Trims is now compatible with resource packs that change the tool textures. As long as the textures follow more or less the shape of the vanilla ones, the trims will look quite good on them. Here's an example with the resource pack Fresh Weapons & Tools:


It's been a minute since the last update... and I think it is about time for a big overhaul. Tool Trims is now in beta for version 3.0! Here are the changes and additions of this beta version:
Added trims for Spears!- The trimming system now uses the vanilla Smithing Table:
- The Toolsmithing Table has been removed
- Changed the texture of the Frost trim pattern on a few tools:
- Some trim patterns might be changed again during this beta phase
- To get the custom templates from the creative menu you no longer need to turn on the "Operator Utilities" tab, you can now get them from the same tab as the vanilla templates
- Trimmed tools and templates from v2.x will be migrated automatically
- Dropped support for 1.21.5-1.21.10

New tools, more combinations! This update makes copper tools trimmable. Here's a list of all the changes:
- Updated to 1.21.9
- Added trims for copper tools
- Some textures of trimmed tools were tweaked
- Slot animations in the Toolsmithing Table now have a smooth transition
- Technical changes:
- Now the data pack only tries to detect the resource pack if a player is in the world
- The loading message now only shows up the first time you load the data pack
